Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using stitches made with a needle and thread. Sewing is one of the oldest in the textile arts.
Sewing: is mainly used to produce clothes and home furnishings such as curtains, bedding, upholstery, and table linens. It is also used for flags, and other structures made of flexible materials such as leather. Most of the sewing work in the industrial world is accomplished using machines. The sewing machine has a complex set of gears and arms that helps penetrate the needle with the thread of the textile layers and then the threads are tangled tightly.
Some people sew clothes on their own for themselves and their families. Home seams are usually used to repair clothes, such as repairing a torn stitch or replacing a missing button. The person who takes the sewing profession is called a tailor.
Sewing is sometimes seen as a craft that does not need much skill, but converting a flat textile into clothes contains many holes, cracks, bends, and folds in a complex way that requires a high level of skill and experience to convert the textile into a soft design free from wrinkles and ripples. The sewing profession is considered one of the market professions and one of the features that made it very popular is its suitability for females, males, healthy people and those with disabilities as sewing machines evolved and became predominantly electronic.
The sewing program is one of the main programs at the Academic Center for Vocational Training and Professional Employment, as this profession is characterized by its suitability for many cases of people with disabilities in addition to its moderate cost of opening and starting a new business later after the end of the training program.
 
This program includes two levels:
Level I:
domestic sewing with a training program that covers all sewing needs with experience in cutting molds and working on various sewing machines and performing basic maintenance for machines and all work requirements in the local market with medium needs.
 
Level II:
Industrial sewing with an advanced training program that qualifies female trainees to work in large workshops. This level requires a longer period of training.
